Therapy for Moms of Color
A Space Made for You
Culturally affirming therapy for Black, Indigenous, and women of color navigating motherhood, identity, and life.
You Deserve to Be Fully Seen
Motherhood is beautiful — and it is also hard. For women of color, that difficulty is often compounded by layers that mainstream therapy rarely addresses: racial stress, generational trauma, the pressure to be "strong," and the exhausting work of navigating systems that were not built with you in mind.
I created this space intentionally. As a Black therapist, I understand firsthand the unique experiences that shape the lives of women of color. I don't need you to explain your culture, justify your feelings, or translate your experience. You can simply show up — as you are.
Whether you're a new mom, an experienced mother, or somewhere in between, this is a place where your whole self is welcome.

Racial Stress & Trauma
The chronic stress of navigating racism — in healthcare, the workplace, and daily life — takes a real toll. Therapy can help you process these experiences and build resilience without minimizing what you've been through.
Generational Patterns
Many of us carry wounds passed down through generations — patterns of silence, survival, and sacrifice. Together we can gently explore these patterns and begin to heal what was never meant to be yours to carry.
The "Strong Black Woman" Myth
You are allowed to need support. The expectation to be endlessly strong, selfless, and resilient can leave you depleted and unseen. Therapy is a place to put that weight down.
Postpartum & Perinatal Mental Health
Women of color are disproportionately affected by perinatal mood disorders and face significant barriers to care. I provide specialized, culturally competent support during and after pregnancy.
Identity & Self-Worth
Navigating multiple identities — as a woman, a mother, a professional, a daughter — can feel overwhelming. I help you reconnect with who you are beyond the roles you fill for others.
Anxiety, Depression & Burnout
Chronic stress, anxiety, and depression show up differently for women of color. I offer evidence-based care that is grounded in your lived experience and cultural context.
“Healing is not a luxury. It is your birthright.”
— Danielle Artis, LCSW
My Approach
My practice is rooted in cultural humility, anti-racism, and a deep respect for the diversity of Black and Brown women's experiences. I draw from person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based frameworks to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, safety, and genuine care.
Sessions are held virtually, making it easier to access care on your schedule — no commute, no childcare scramble. I currently serve clients in Virginia and am accepting new clients.
